Football St George is proud to welcome Sydney FC’s renowned Holiday Clinics back to the region these school holidays, providing local boys and girls with an opportunity to experience football at its best in a professional yet fun environment.

Over three action-packed days, children aged five to thirteen will be guided by Sydney FC’s team of highly qualified and passionate coaches. The program has been carefully designed not just to improve football skills, but to nurture confidence, teamwork, and a love of the game. Every child also receives a Sydney FC training kit, hat, and Junior Membership, helping them feel connected to Australia’s most successful A-League club both on and off the field.

The clinics are about more than just kicking a ball. They are structured to ensure players develop essential technical skills such as passing, dribbling, and finishing, while also learning how to communicate, collaborate, and thrive within a team environment. This balance of technical development and social growth is a cornerstone of the Sydney FC philosophy and one of the reasons the clinics have become so highly regarded across the state.

Sydney FC’s Sky Blue Pathways Officer, Mia Murarotto, believes the impact extends far beyond the three-day program. “Our Holiday Clinics are a fantastic way for young players to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment. It’s always great to see kids building confidence, making new friends, and learning the Sydney FC way under the guidance of our professional coaches.”

Football St George CEO, Gary Lockwood, said that hosting these clinics in the St George region is vital for strengthening pathways between grassroots and elite football. “These clinics are a brilliant initiative that allow St George children to enjoy the game at a high standard while still feeling connected to their grassroots clubs. Sydney FC’s presence in our region inspires young players and strengthens the pathways available for them to continue their football journey.”

Lockwood added that exposing young players to professional coaching at an early age can have a lasting influence on their football futures. “These programs help children to see what is possible, that with the right guidance, hard work and passion, they too can aspire to play at the highest levels. Equally important, they leave each day with a smile on their face, having made new friends and shared in the joy that football brings.”

The clinics are also a unique chance for local children to interact with Sydney FC players, whose visits provide an extra level of excitement and motivation. Meeting professional footballers gives participants a tangible link between their own football journey and the opportunities the game can provide, whether that’s representing their local club, their region, or one day, their country.

With the school holidays approaching, the Sydney FC Holiday Clinics in St George promise to once again deliver a memorable and meaningful experience for local families. More than just a holiday activity, they are an investment in the next generation of footballers, helping young players to grow as athletes, teammates, and members of the community.
