Football St George (“FSG”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Lockwood as their next CEO. He will commence in the role full time on 2 June 2025 and will spend one day per week onboarding at FSG’s offices over the next month.
Gary brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, as well as a lifelong passion for football. Over the last two decades Gary has worked in sports administration in clubs and sporting associations. His skill and experience will serve him well as our next CEO.
Football is a lifelong passion for Gary. Apart from his playing career, Gary was one of the founders of the Sutherland Titans Football Club, a club that caters for children and young adults with special needs. He’s a formerly FFA accredited C Licence Coach and continues to coach in football. He is also qualified as a Level 2 Referee, Referee Instructor and Assessor and has previously served as a director of the Sutherland Shire FA and on the Sutherland Shire Referees Branch Committee.
Reflecting on his appointment, Gary said “it is an honour to be appointed as CEO of FSG and I am looking forward to working with Member Clubs, Board, Staff and stakeholders in delivering positive outcomes to all aspects of the game.”
FSG also acknowledges Greg Chronopoulos, who stepped in at short notice and provided valuable assistance to FSG in a transition period. His contribution is deeply appreciated.
