Football St George’s Football4All inclusion program celebrated a fantastic year filled with joy, progress, and teamwork at their recent Presentation Day which was held at Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club.
Designed to offer individuals with disabilities the opportunity to play football in a supportive and inclusive environment, the program was a true testament to the power of community and sportsmanship.
Throughout the year, dedicated coaches poured their hearts into developing players’ skills and confidence, creating an atmosphere where everyone felt valued. Their hard work was complemented by the tireless efforts of support staff which included parents, who ensured smooth operations during both training sessions and game days.
Special guests on the day Greg O’Rourke and Teresa Polias presented each player and coach a 10-year anniversary shirt, as well as lending their inspiration and encouragement to the players. These guests helped foster a sense of pride and unity, further highlighting the importance of inclusion in sports.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of parents, who cheered from the sideline’s week after week. Their enthusiasm and belief in the program created a positive environment that allowed the players to flourish.
Football St George and the Football4All program would also like to acknowledge the NSW Member for Oatley, Mark Coure MP. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mark for the generous grant funding provided to us for the procurement of football gear and equipment. His support is instrumental in promoting sports and physical activity within our community, and it significantly contributes to the development and well-being of our youth.
As the season drew to a close, it was clear that Football4All had built not just football players, but a close-knit community that celebrated diversity, inclusion, and shared victories, both on and off the field. The future looks bright for everyone involved!
