Football St George (FSG) is proud to announce that Bayside Council candidates have signed a significant pledge supporting FSG, its member clubs, and the key issues affecting our football community.

This pledge reflects the candidates’ dedication to safeguarding the rights, access, and facilities of FSG clubs, which have played a crucial role in promoting football in our local communities for nearly 100 years.

Key Points of the Pledge:

  • Commitment to Protecting the Tenure of FSG Clubs:
    • The candidates have committed to upholding the longstanding rights of FSG member clubs that have occupied Bayside grounds for decades. These clubs have played a pivotal role in fostering participation, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles within the community.
    • FSG clubs have made significant investments in the improvement and maintenance of local grounds, and the pledge calls for their protection from any displacement or reduction in access to these facilities.
  • Protecting Community Fields:
    • The pledge includes a commitment to oppose any actions that would result in the removal of existing all-weather fields, which are essential for our community.
    • Additionally, candidates have agreed to continue exploring opportunities to introduce more all-weather fields to meet the growing demand driven by our increasing population.
