2024 NSWPFA PRESENTATION DINNER

On Saturday 3rd August, the annual NSWPFA Presentation Dinner was held at Blacktown Workers to celebrate the 2024 FNSW Powerchair season.

The night included presentations to Life Members Matt Cross, Peter Turnbull, Martin Dalrymple and Michael Keyte for their immeasurable contributions to powerchair football. They have all been instrumental in the establishment of Powerchair Football in Australia.

In regard to the 2024 season Football St George coach Diab Karim was ecstatic “We came out as the premiers in reserve grade and 3rd place after a tight run towards the end of season in the premier division. We have had many learning moments being a completely new team, however everyone brought their strengths together and we created a strong powerchair side. Big thanks to St George and huge congratulations to both our teams on a cracker 2024 season”Some key players were recognised on Saturday’s event for their achievements during the season including the premier division MVP for the 2nd year running, Abdullah Karim. Logan and Jake took out the Clean Sheet and Golden Guard Awards which was excellent recognition for the season of hard work.

When asked about winning the MVP for the 2nd year in a row Abdullah Karim had this to say “It’s amazing and also pretty surreal. You don’t ever expect to win things back-to-back, but I am so honoured to win the MVP award and also share it with the deserving Matt Mallows from Hills United.
In looking forward to season 2025 Abdullah was optimistic and confident saying” Hopefully we can go and achieve what we did this season and really shake up the competition. I had such a great time coaching the reserves and it was such a privilege to see them learn throughout the season and hopefully take all the positives into 2025″
