Football St George recently held its first MiniRoos Coaching Course at Sans Souci FC.

One of the key indicators of success of any coaching course is participant satisfaction and FSG Technical Director Brian Dene spoke about the positive feedback on the night from the coaches, young players, and their parents at Sans Souci FC.

“It demonstrated that the course was engaging, well-organised, and beneficial. If participants enjoy the experience, they are more likely to continue coaching, playing football and potentially pursue it at a higher level”.

The improvement in the players’ skills and knowledge of the game is essential. A successful coaching course focuses on developing fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, first touch and 1v1 situations. Progress in these areas indicates that the coaching methods used are effective and that the coaches are benefiting from the instruction”.

A successful MiniRoos coaching course not only develops coaches and players’ skills but also instils values like teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship that will benefit them both on and off the field”. Dene added.

When looking at the long-term impact of the course, success can be measured by tracking the continued involvement of participants in football activities, whether it’s joining a local team, participating in tournaments, or even pursuing a career in football.

By focusing on all of these aspects, coaches can ensure that their courses are effective in nurturing young talent and fostering a passion for football.

Football St George would like to thank Sans Souci FC for their ongoing support of coach education.
