FSG are pleased to announce that for the 2024 Powerchair Football season teams from St George will be competing for the 2024 Powerchair Championship.

FSG entering teams in the NSW Powerchair League marks the next step in the expansion of FSG’s inclusive football programs, which include the Football4All program, powerchair holiday clinics, and partnership with Special Olympics Australia.

The season kicks off tomorrow, Saturday 24th of February with a Bye for St George in the first Round.

Diab Karim has been appointed coach of the FSG Powerchair team for the 2024 season. Diab has been active in Powerchair Football since 2012. As a coach Diab emphasizes the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and a positive mindset. Diab’s goal is to not only impart valuable skills but also to instill a sense of sportsmanship among the players he mentors.

FSG’s CEO Phil Brown was delighted with the appointment.
“We are excited to welcome Diab as the inaugural Football St George Powerchair head coach. Diab has been involved in the sport for over a decade as a referee and was recently part of the team officials for the PowerRoos competing at the 2023 Powerchair World Cup”.

Training for the season commenced on the 1st February at the Morris Iemma Indoor Sport Centre, Riverwood and the FSG team train every Thursday.

The first match for FSG will be next Saturday 2nd March 2024 with Reserve Grade kicking off at 2.30pm and Premier League 3.30pm.
