14 July 2021
Following the announcement this morning from the NSW Government, Football St George (FSG) confirms that all football activities will remain suspended until 11:59pm, Friday 30 July 2021.
As was the case in 2020, our guiding principle will be to optimise the playing time for all participants when we return to play. FSG will continue to work with Football NSW, local Councils, and our Member Clubs to return as quickly as possible, and in line with public health orders.
To assist in our planning process, the FSG board has agreed to re-establish a COVID sub-committee who will meet early next week. FSG will continue to update our clubs and members at the earliest opportunity.
In addition, we take this opportunity to remind all Clubs and their participants of the below advice from Football NSW:
What does this mean for Football in the effected areas?
- All games, training and other football activities remain prohibited.
- All Football NSW and Association competitions and leagues will remain suspended until 11.59pm on Friday, 30 July 2021.
- Any football activity which takes place during this period is not sanctioned by Football NSW and, therefore, the Personal Accident insurance cover that is provided as part of a player’s registration may not apply.
Should FSG receive any reports or complaints in relation to any breach of the above restrictions, FSG will further investigate and may apply appropriate sanctions to such breach.
We would like to thank you for your patience, cooperation, and assistance, and adhering to the restriction guidelines placed by the NSW Government and NSW Health will ensure we get back onto that pitch as soon as possible.
