Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club has continued its commitment and support for local football in St George in 2021, with a particular focus on female football.

The Club is a long-time major sponsor of local Football St George (FSG) grassroots Club, Ramsgate RSL FC, and has also been the major sponsor of the Associations Girls SAP program for the past 2-years.

The Memorial Club is a very community centric organisation that supports a number of sporting groups within the district.

FSG deliver a part-time Girls Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) that provides local players the opportunity to represent their district in the Football NSW competition whilst also still playing for their local grassroots Club in the FSG competitions.

FSG Girls SAP age groups cater for Under 10,11, 12 and 13 with players training weekly and playing games against other SAP teams every second week. The players also train weekly with their club team and play every Sunday with their club teams.

Football St George CEO, Craig Kiely, is proud of the partnership.

“We are thankful for the continued partnership we have with Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club and are very grateful for their continued support of football, in particular female football, which we are celebrating this week.”

“The partnership is a great fit for FSG given the shared values of Friendliness, Respect and Trust and we hope that this partnership can continue longinto the future”.

Football St George Technical Director, Brian Dene, is pleased with how the 2021 program is being delivered.

“We believe we have a great and unique program that allows aspiring players to continue their development from both within their respective Club and via the environment we are creating with our GSAP.”

“We have a strong focus on developing female football in the district and this is a very important program for our Association and member Clubs”.

As a local grassroots Club, Ramsgate RSL FC, is one of the strongest and proudest in the district.

The Club have worked hard in driving the growth of female football and have embraced the Association Girls SAP. The Club have several talented players involved in the program, all aspiring to be the next Teresa Polias, who first began her footballing career at Ramsgate RSL FC and Carss Park FC and has gone on to represent the Matildas and captain the Sydney FC W-League team.
