The 2nd annual SGFA Chairman’s Cup was staged on Sunday 20 October 2019 at Peakhurst Park synthetic with 30 teams competing in a fun and social 6-a-side football tournament. All funds raised going towards for the St Vincent Hospital Hematology Unit.

The charity day is staged in honour of former Chairman, the late Sok Mallios, and coordinated by his three children Cilla, Steph and Jeremy and wife Linda. A special note of thanks goes to Jo Nedelkovski for all her help and support in making the day happen.

This years event extra special as it was staged at the newly re-developed synthetic facility at Peakhurst, a venue Sok had always wanted to see upgraded.

It was a fantastic occasion, with wonderful weather and the SGFA and Mallios family would like to thank everyone who participated in the right spirit on the day.

Whilst winning wasn’t the ultimate reason for participating in the day, congratulations is extended to the 2 team winners of the Chairman’s Cup age groups:

  • All Age Mixed – Originals 2.0
  • Over 45s  – Sans Souci FC

SGFA would also like to extend a sincere thanks to all the referees from St George Football Referees Association who gave up theirs time to assist and support the event. This was greatly appreciated.

Confirmation of the total amount of funds raised will be done following the completion of final collections of donations.
