It was a proud day for the St George Football Association community on Sunday at Jubilee Stadium as our district played host to “The BigBlue” Westfield W-League and Hyundai A-League doubleheader between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory.

Our Association clubs, players, coaches and volunteers were all part of the celebration, providing the ball kids, player mascots, centre-circle mat kids, half-time heroes and also participated in a march past prior to the A-League kick-off.

Our football4all program, St George Warriors FC, also provided a guard of honour for A-League players as they walked onto the field at the same time as our new #SGFA banner was unveiled to the crowd in what was a symbolic moment.

SGFA would like to thank the Sydney FC Board. management and staff for working with us to provide this opportunity that was a wonderful occasion for football.

Congratulations must also go to Sue Dick from Lugarno FC for being awarded the Sydney FC community hero award, recognising her contribution to local football as part of female football round celebrations.
