St George football participants will be some of biggest beneficiaries of improved local facilities in the next 12 months with both Bayside Council and Georges River Council committing to a significant level of financial investment into infrastructure projects as part of their draft operational delivery and operations plans for 2018/19.
St George Football Association (SGFA) fully endorse the programs and note this unprecedented support and investment into new and upgraded facilities that will have a direct and positive impact for football in our district.
The planned works contained within the programs will begin to transform the district and provide hugely beneficial outcomes for the entire community. Importantly both Councils are committed to working in conjunction with SGFA and Clubs to see this further upgrades and improvements into the future across other fields.
In addition, SGFA will also this weekend complete the first stage of its facilities audit, which is a state-wide collaborative initiative led by Football NSW. Club and Associations across the state are working together to conduct the most comprehensive analysis of football facilities since the last audit conducted in 2010 as part of Australia’s 2022 FIFA World Cup Bid. The 2018 Football Facilities Audit will help key stakeholders in making better informed and strategic decisions provide accurate and up-to-date data detailing the quality and quantity of existing facilities, current usage, as well as potential barriers around future use.
