The SGFA Board & Management of the St George Football Association confirms that it has withdrawn it’s position in both the Girls SAP Program & Girls Conference League for 2018.
The decision by Football NSW to award licenses to 3 teams/clubs (St George FA, Rockdale City Suns & St George FC) within the St George district, per Declaration of Leagues distributed on 19th September 2017 , across these full time leagues is not sustainable for an area which has 1700 registered female participants.
As the governing body of the game in our area, it is incumbent on us to ensure we continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of the game within St George.
SGFA will instead focus on it’s grassroots competitions and deliver a Free Girls Clinic/Program in 2018.
To this end, we advise anyone who has registered to trial for St George FA to make contact or register with either of the following clubs:
