Local St George football players will have the opportunity to kick on into summer as part of the new Summer Football Program to be delivered by the St George Football Association (SGFA).

SGFA is the local body for football in the St George district and is the largest and most participated sport in the area, representing close to 10,000 participants.

The growth and popularity of the sport continues to grow and following the completion of another successful local season players, coaches and referees will now have the opportunity to continue the play beyond the winter competitions.

“Football is now clearly a year round sport and we are delighted to be able to offer an additional program that provides a fun and exciting environment for our kids to stay active over the warmer months,” SGFA General Manager Craig Kiely stated.

The program is officially endorsed by Football NSW and will be open to Junior boys and girls aged U7 to U15 and will be staged at the multi-purpose synthetic pitches at the Kyeemagh RSL & Community Club.

Kiely added “As community driven organisation it is particularly pleasing that we have been able to work with and support two other local community groups in Kyeemagh RSL & Community Club and the St George Randwick Hockey Club to deliver the Summer program.”

The SGFA is also currently taking expressions of interest for senior age competitions.

Team nominations are now open up until 8 September 2016 with the competition kicking off on 21 and 22 September.
