The Penshurst West Football Club comes under the umbrella of the Penshurst West Youth Club. The Youth Club was established in 1965 by a group of dedicated parents with the assistance of a teacher and sports master from Penshurst West Public School by the name of Charles Owen.

Mr Owen saw a need for the students to be involved in sport at the weekends, as there was no provision in the surrounding district for organised sport. Over the years there has been numerous sporting codes that play under the banner of Penshurst West including rugby league, baseball, netball, cricket and of course football.

The mission statement for our club is “To provide a safe, fun and family friendly environment for players of all ages and their respective families to enjoy football.”

Many of our members have lengthy years of membership that exceed more than 15 years. Some players in our Over 35’s played in our club when they were just 6 years old, while some members who play in our younger grades are now playing for the same club as their dads.

Our club is culturally diverse with many nationalities represented amongst our members. We are fortunate to have facilities that provide us with room to host SSF, mini, midi and main field games. Our canteen provides us and many other park users with wonderful BBQ items that are kindly cooked by various parents/players who are rostered on each week, along with various hot & cold drinks and the usual canteen snacks.

In 2016 the Penshurst West Football Club committee is still run by a dedicated group of parents and players just like the early days. Their goal is to do all that they can to ensure the smooth running of this medium sized family friendly club and to give all players a chance to “Win Honourably, Lose Graciously and Always Play the Game.”
