The mission statement of Lugarno FC is “To become the Football Club of choice for members of the local and surrounding communities by providing them with the opportunity to play competitive football and develop their football skills in a friendly, safe and fun filled environment.”

Lugarno FC was formed in 1962 and participated for the first time with four teams during season 1963. The club secured its first premierships in 1964 when two teams won the competition. From humble beginnings Lugarno FC has grown over the decades to become one of the largest and respected football clubs affiliated with the St George Football Association. Present season sees Lugarno FC fielding 46 teams with 600 registered players and 113 RTO’s.

The club has two main fields (Gannons 4 and 6), a midi field (Gannons 3) and small sided fields.

The famous and distinct tangerine jersey of Lugarno FC was introduced in 1975 when the club decided to move away from its original turquoise blue jersey.

Success on the football field has seen Lugarno FC secure 104 premierships including the memorable Premier League title in 2011.

Today’s Lugarno FC is run by a dedicated Executive Committee.

The club is very active and operates one of the best canteens in the competition, produces a weekly newsletter called “Around the Grounds”, organises informative monthly coaches and managers meetings, runs the popular under 8’s Gala Day, the annual “Life Members Day”, hosts the fun Trivia Night function and acknowledges the efforts of players and RTO’s during junior and senior presentation days.

Taking player development seriously Lugarno FC employs an accredited Club Coaching Director.

Despite its growth and ongoing success on the football field, Lugarno FC has stayed true to its origins and continues to operate and function as a truly local community and family based club.

Lugarno FC’s underlying principle is to continue to cater for the needs of all who seek to play the great game we call football.
