Oatley Park Oval is to get a $300,000 upgraded amenities block.
The grant was provided by the NSW Government funded through the Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants program.
Oatley MP Mark Coure said the project would be delivered in partnership with Georges River Council, and would include new change-rooms, canteen, storage and operating spaces.
“These new facilities will help St George Football Association and All Saints Oatley West FC attract more players, particularly young people keen to get involved in the sport,” Mr Coure said.
“More modern, functional and comfortable facilities will enhance game-day and training experiences for the hundreds of players who use the oval.
“It will also support the association in its delivery of programs for people with disabilities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander school students.
“New gender-neutral change-rooms will also help boost female participation in football.”
St George Football Association CEO, Craig Kiely, was thrilled that the Association’s application was successful.
“It is so important that all level of government continue to invest into important community
infrastructure projects which provide safe and inclusive environments for participants and encourage active and healthy lifestyles,” Mr Kiely said.
“More than $50 million in funding is being provided during this current term of government for projects across sport and recreation, emergency preparedness, and arts and culture,” Mr Toole said.
