St George Football Association’s grand final fortnight at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah, will culminate with the men’s and women’s premier league deciders this weekend.
Arncliffe Aurora, who finished the league season in third place, will meet second-placed Connells Point in the men’s final on Saturday night
Premiers Dolls Point take on second-placed finishers Banksia in the women’s clash on Sunday afternoon.
St George FA held its finals series at the iconic Kogarah ground for the first time this season, with more than 500 players gracing the hallowed turf for 25 grand finals.
The association gained access to Jubilee Oval after Georges River Council resumed management of the venue from the St George Illawarra Dragons NRL club in February.
Under-13s, 14s, 15s, 16s and 18s A-division grand finals will be played on Saturday along with the premier league reserve grade final. On Sunday, the 12 A’s, All Age Women A and B’s, over-35 A’s, Over 45’s deciders plus the Premier Women’s League final will wrap up the weekend.
The association is hopeful a successful fortnight will see local football finals become an annual tradition at Jubilee Oval, widely regarded as the best sporting facility in the district.
Scarborough Park North will host the All Age A grand finals on Saturday and the 18 B and C’s on Saturday, whilst St George Stadium will play host to the All Age Women C, Over 35 C and Over 35 B deciders.
